Life can throw a few wrenches here and there, but you know that old saying “when life throws you wrenches, get your nuts and bolts ready.”
Ok, that’s not a real saying. But maybe it should be? And maybe someone should also figure out what it means…
Anyway, I took an unexpected hiatus but now it’s time to get back into the swing of playing, reviewing, thinking about, and learning from games.
I haven’t had too much time to revisit any of my previous ideas that need help- Transylvania Pizza Kitchen, Zookeeper, and The Great Barrier Reef, but I hope to get some more testing done soon.
Ive also got the faint glimmer of a game centered around a baking theme. It might end up borrowing the action selection groundwork found in Happy Pigs (an absurdly silly name and looking game, but I’m told it is excellent) In fact, a lot of my games could benefit from a modified version of this framework.
I ended up missing the 2 player design contest on BoardGameGeek but I have renewed focus to enter the solo game contest. I have some ideas loosely based around tower defense from video games (I’ve been playing Star Fox Guard lately) and I think some of the concepts can translate well to physical games.
I’m excited to get back into the swing of things and I hope you enjoy the journey as well.
Stay tuned!
